Choosing childcare is a big decision. Here are answers to the questions we hear most. Don't see yours? Just ask.
Programs & ages
What ages do you serve?
We care for infants through Pre-K, plus school-age children ages 5 to 12 in our before and after school program and our summer program.
What are your hours?
We're open Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM. Please drop off by 9:00 AM so your child can join the morning's learning.
Do you offer part-time schedules?
Yes. We offer 2, 3, and 4-day part-time schedules, depending on availability.
Do you provide transportation?
Transportation and field trips are not provided.
Safety & health
Are you licensed?
Yes. Toomerland is licensed by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and meets or exceeds state rules.
How do you keep children secure?
Every child is signed in and out by a parent, and children are only released to adults on the enrollment form with a valid state ID. We also hold monthly fire drills and regular tornado and safety drills.
How do you handle allergies?
Allergy and dietary plans are posted in each classroom and followed carefully at every meal and snack.
Enrollment & tuition
How do I enroll?
Start by scheduling a tour. We'll guide you through the application, registration, and paperwork.
How much is tuition?
Tuition depends on your child's age and schedule, and we offer multi-child discounts. Contact us for current rates.
Do you accept child care subsidy?
We welcome families using Missouri child care subsidy. Please ask us about eligibility.
Daily life
Are meals included?
Yes. Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack are included and planned to USDA CACFP standards. Please don't send outside food, though we're happy to arrange birthday treats.
Do you potty train?
Potty training begins at home, and we support it at school by following your routine. Children are considered potty trained after two weeks without accidents.
How will I know about my child's day?
You'll receive daily communication about your child's day, and weekly lesson themes are posted for families.
Can I visit during the day?
Yes. We have an open-door policy, and parents are welcome to visit or call at any time.
